You might be wondering why I’m reading a publication about retirement when I’m in my prime. No, I didn’t win the lottery. I’m just hopeful that thirty-six still counts as one of my best years. But there I was, sitting alone in the dermatologist’s office waiting room and thumbing through the magazine rack looking for an alternative to playing Flappy Bird on my phone. Yes, my kids sucked me into that before the app was discontinued or whatever term might apply. I’m not current with the Millennial vernacular. Maybe that’s why I called the flashlight on my phone a “feature” and not an app. It's no secret that I have a love hate relationship with technology.
