Then there's that same advice made worse when it's published through a national forum for millions to see. Lately, I've been reading Dear Abby's column at night, almost in a comatose state, just after declaring bedtime as my favorite part of the entire day. A comment I say out loud, audience or not, day after day each time I collapse into bed, soothed by the chill of my cotton sheets and quietude of the dark space.
One recent post made me rethink whether Dear Abby is even qualified to give advice, even though it comes with an understood caveat for readers that the column is intended more for entertainment purposes, than as prescribed guidance. Here's a link to the column, specifically the first Q&A, which sparked my outrage. http://news.yahoo.com/mom-caregiver-referee-between-husband-sons-050120801.html
What do you think of her advice-sage or senseless?
